The Briareo '19 expression, produced by Vecchia Cantina di Montepulciano, represents a Riserva that must be aged for a minimum of two years in oak and at least six months in bottle before release, according to the consortium’s regulations. The key ingredient is the Sangiovese grape, locally called Prugnolo Gentile, which must constitute at least 70 percent of the blend; local varieties such as Canaiolo Nero and Colorino are also permitted.
