Ingredients
6 items- 1000 gStrawberriesFresh strawberries, ripe and sweet
- 200 gWater
- 200 gSugarGranulated white sugar
- 1 pcsVanilla BeanVanilla bean, split and seeds scraped
- Whipping Cream(optional) — Whipped cream, optionally sweetened; for the kids' version
- Vodka(optional) — A splash; for the adult Caipiroska version
Method
- Make the syrup: combine 200 g water and 200 g sugar in a saucepan. Split the vanilla bean, scrape the seeds, and add both seeds and pod to the pan. Heat until the sugar dissolves and the syrup becomes slightly thickened and transparent.
- Wash and hull the strawberries. Cut them into quarters.
- Add the quartered strawberries to the warm syrup. Stir gently. Remove the vanilla pod (optional, can keep it for aroma).
- Pour the strawberry-syrup mixture into ice cube trays or small containers. Freeze for 5-6 hours until solid.
- For the adult version (Caipiroska): Remove the frozen cubes from the tray, place them in a bowl, add a splash of vodka, and blend with an immersion blender until smooth and creamy.
- For the kids version: Serve the frozen sorbet cubes directly or scoop, and top with freshly whipped cream (add a little sugar if desired).
