Ingredients

6 items
  • 1000 gStrawberriesFresh strawberries, ripe and sweet
  • 200 gWater
  • 200 gSugarGranulated white sugar
  • 1 pcsVanilla BeanVanilla bean, split and seeds scraped
  • Whipping Cream(optional)Whipped cream, optionally sweetened; for the kids' version
  • Vodka(optional)A splash; for the adult Caipiroska version

Method

  1. Make the syrup: combine 200 g water and 200 g sugar in a saucepan. Split the vanilla bean, scrape the seeds, and add both seeds and pod to the pan. Heat until the sugar dissolves and the syrup becomes slightly thickened and transparent.
  2. Wash and hull the strawberries. Cut them into quarters.
  3. Add the quartered strawberries to the warm syrup. Stir gently. Remove the vanilla pod (optional, can keep it for aroma).
  4. Pour the strawberry-syrup mixture into ice cube trays or small containers. Freeze for 5-6 hours until solid.
  5. For the adult version (Caipiroska): Remove the frozen cubes from the tray, place them in a bowl, add a splash of vodka, and blend with an immersion blender until smooth and creamy.
  6. For the kids version: Serve the frozen sorbet cubes directly or scoop, and top with freshly whipped cream (add a little sugar if desired).
