The story
Nestled in a banana plantation in Costa Adeje, El Codo earns a 4.7 rating as a rustic meat lover’s paradise. Only Scrans, a local food guide, calls it “incredible,” noting flame-grilled meats and fresh goat cheese from the farm out back. The bar’s setting alone signals something special.
The menu leans heavily on the grill: Arroz con Carne Variada, Conejo a la Parrilla, and Cordero a la Llama are standouts. Goat cheese (Queso de Cabra a la Parrilla) and Cabrito Estofado with fries add depth, while Pan con Aceitunas y Mojos and Papas Arrugadas ground the meal. A no-frills, neighborhood favorite worth the trip.

Pan con Aceitunas y Mojos
We started with some bread olives and more mojos. These olives, shall we? They are garlicky, garlicky olives. Nice and soft, moist. I am going to miss this sauce on everything.
Arroz con Carne Variada
The waiter recommended starting with some of their rice with various meats in it. He said get some of this rice which comes with a load of different meats. Think there's pork, chicken, maybe rabbit as well. It's like a meat rice. I wish I knew what it was called, but he just said 'you like rice' and that's what I do, mate. Yeah, okay, rice with lots of meat.
Queso de Cabra a la Parrilla
We had to get more of that goats cheese from the other night. Wow, I'm going to put it out there: it's better than halloumi. Canarian goats are outside here and they're milking them for this cheese. Love it, fresh as it comes.
Conejo a la Parrilla
This is the grilled rabbit, perfectly cooked over the coals. The only other time I've had rabbit is in Pathos in Cyprus, also really nice. That is good good meat. That rabbit is so good.
Cabrito Estofado con Patatas Fritas
They also do a braised goat meat with fries. Considering there was a goat farm out back, I thought it'd be best to try it. Oh, it's so soft. Oh my God, it is so soft. I need B. It tastes just like lamb. This goat might be my favorite so far actually. Oh my God.
