AI summary of what 3 dish mentions say about the food
Reviewers praise Soba Rou’s silky yuba as the standout dish, served with a delicate, earthy broth. The overall vibe is warm and minimalist, celebrating pure, refined Japanese flavors.
“The yuba is the skin of soy milk — we've had it before. It's denser than the night version, so it stays very solid and compact. They take it, put it on paper for two seconds, then you have to rehydrate it. In this case it's probably tofu with yuba on top.”

A solid soba spot in Kyoto with great zaru soba and a unique tradition of drinking the noodle cooking water as soup, though service is a bit slow.

Zaru Soba
I absolutely love zaru soba, it's one of my favorite Japanese dishes. The dipping sauce is fantastic, and at the end they bring you the hot water from boiling the noodles to add to the leftover sauce — you drink it like a soup. Super cool, nothing goes to waste. The service is a bit slow, but the soba is really good. We tried several different versions and spent 10,400 yen for four people, which is totally reasonable.

The yuba is the skin of soy milk — we've had it before. It's denser than the night version, so it stays very solid and compact. They take it, put it on paper for two seconds, then you have to rehydrate it. In this case it's probably tofu with yuba on top.
Tempura di Gamberi e Verdure
We ordered a bunch of appetizers before the soba — we had yuba, pickled cucumbers, and shrimp and vegetable tempura. So far it seems like a really good choice, this place.
