Shrimp Gyoza

Crispy and golden on the outside, soft and tasty on the inside. Homemade gyoza filled with shrimp seasoned with lemon zest, chives, and a touch of hot sauce.

9 items- FlourAll-purpose flour
- SaltFor dough and filling

- ShrimpRaw shrimp, peeled and deveined
- PepperBlack pepper, to taste
- Lemon ZestGrated zest
- ChivesFresh chives, chopped
- Salsa piccanteSriracha or tabasco
- Seed OilFor frying
Method
- Make the dough: mix flour, salt, and water in a bowl until a smooth ball forms. Cover with plastic wrap and let rest for 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile, prepare the shrimp: remove heads, shells, and devein. Finely chop the shrimp.
- Season the shrimp with salt, pepper, lemon zest, chopped chives, and hot sauce (sriracha or tabasco). Mix well and set aside.
- On a floured surface, roll out the rested dough to 2 mm thickness. Use an 11 cm round cutter to cut out discs.
- Place a teaspoon of filling in the center of each disc. Moisten the edges, fold in half, and pleat to seal the gyoza.
- Heat oil in a non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Arrange gyoza in a single layer and fry until the bottom is golden. Add a splash of water, cover, and steam for 2–3 minutes.
- Serve hot, garnished with lemon zest and chives. Accompany with soy sauce or extra hot sauce.
